Subject: Poor internet connection in our city
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to express my concern regarding the poor internet connectivity in our city.
I am a resident of Bankura, a city of significant administrative and economic importance. In the 21st century, the internet has become an integral part of our daily lives. From reading the news in the morning to wishing friends good night, we are constantly dependent on digital connectivity. However, in recent times, we have been experiencing poor broadband speed and frequent disconnections from local internet service providers. This issue has become a serious impediment to productivity, education and even basic communication within the community. It is affecting residents, students, businessmen and employees who work from home.
Common people often face problems in government offices and banks due to link failures, leading to long waiting hours and unnecessary crowding. Similarly, local businessmen and residents are encountering challenges during online money transactions. This disruption adversely affects the local economy. Those working from home are hampered during virtual meetings, customer support and team collaborations. Students preparing for competitive exams or attending online courses are also unable to access learning materials effectively due to the unstable network. Besides, local people often face a major hindrance because of network problems at the time of Tatkal ticket booking on the IRCTC platform.
Immediate action is essential. Local service providers must investigate and resolve these issues without delay. A comprehensive plan is needed to modernise infrastructure, enhance network reliability, and improve internet speed.
I sincerely urge the local internet service providers to prioritise this pressing issue and work towards a lasting solution that benefits all the residents of Bankura.
